The whip itself is 13 feet with enough martial to extend over 30 feet (for rope usage) with a hook blades at the tips able to slip in or from an arrow head shape

Abilities: The whip itself is quite sturdy  has the ability to extend and retract back out/in from its hilt at a max range of 30 meters though general used for combat is around 13 feet for proper technique. Upon command the entire weapon is able to extend or retract out spiky thrones upon the rope, each around 1.5 inches off it.

Inside the thorns is a micro poison able to damage living tissues on impact that spreads only on the impact site, damaging their bodies over the course of five posts (based on forge stat) before dissipating, causing an additional low moderate damage overall to them in addition to the physical impact.  The tip of the whip that can either take the shape of a two edge hook or arrow head also has this same toxin.

The sections of the whip can also make themselves stiff, forming a pole able to be wielded as well.

Some of the abilities seem like spells that focus on forged weapons.

This would need to be one, constant, length. Unless of course it's extending manually in terms of a rope which I doubt you want. Feel free to correct me.

The thorns can be on there but them launching would be a separate ability. It's too spell like (it is, however, a forge based spell).

The potential use for a boy by stiffening the whip is fine. And the only issue with the poison is that you don't specify what damage it does to the muscle tissue. What if it doesn't make contact with the muscle tissue and only hits the skin but doesn't break through all the way?

ya for the most part it extends only to 13 at max by itself, other wise I'd need to pull it out more to make it like rope for other functions

You're getting over technical with the effects. Just give basic ideas of what can happen and it'll range based on who holds it and their affinities and weaknesses and etc.

Just to perhaps make a parallel: for fireballs we wouldn't ask what degree they initially burn the victim with.

The reason I say it's too technical is because people shouldn't have to look up definitions of words to know what a weapon does.

Also, know that your own weapons can work against you if taken or if you are hurt with your own thorns.

Sidenote: You'd have to retract the rope as well.
